When looking for mistakes, use the mirror, not the binocular!
Character

It is a normal thing for a human to look for errors in other people. Do you know why? Because it makes us feel better. As we discover an error in someone else, it makes us feel better than them. No wonder why people backbite and look for errors in other people!

But, by looking for errors in other people, we do not improve at all. Why not turn the thing around and look at ourselves instead. When you discover an error in someone else, maybe you have trouble in some similar area? If you see someone who speaks badly of others, instead of “feeling good that you aren’t that bad”, consider how you can get even better, and let your own voice be one of encouragement?
