As a kid, I remember reading a saying that said that those who believe they are finished learning, aren’t finished learning, only finished. I read it in Norwegian, so the saying is just a “free translation” from my head of the Norwegian saying (that probably origins from the English language anyway).
The following saying from John F. Kennedy is quite similar to the quoted saying.
What I understand from the saying, is that if you want to be a leader, you need to be a learner. If you stop developing your skills, you will no longer be able to lead and develop other leaders. You can, of course, lead other people for a while, but if you want to develop as a leader, you need to be active. This can be done through attending courses, reading books, and spending time with people who influence you and teach you by their works, deeds, and words.
I feel inspired by this saying, so maybe I should stop writing this blog post and find a good book to read instead?
