Winning solves everything. – Tiger Woods

winning solves everything
Leadership

Today I want to share a quote that I do not agree with in full. How come? It is great to win, it is great to be successful, but it doesn’t solve all your problems! Just look at all the successful people struggling with narcotics, depression, and other similar stuff.

winning solves everything

winning solves everything

Maybe this isn’t what Tiger Woods thought about when he said Winning solves everything. In a way, if you win all the time, you will also win the battle against alcohol abuse, the battle against pride, the battle against adultery, and so on. But, being the number one golfer in the world does not mean that all your problems will be solved.

A great American soccer player named Mia Hamm said: “The person that said winning isn’t everything, never won anything.” Again, I do not entirely agree with this. Winning means a lot, and we should all strive to win – but, I believe many people would have done way better if they were satisfied being number two and spent some time with their families instead of fighting in vain (and at the same time ruining their own families) trying to become the best!

What do you think about this? I would love to hear your thoughts!
