Watch Nobel (season 1) on Netflix

Nobel was voted as the best European TV series in 2016. Now you can stream the Norwegian TV series Nobel on Netflix. Curious?

In Nobel we follow a crew of soldiers who have been to Afghanistan after returning to Norway. Life ain’t easy back home in Norway, but in every episode we also get further insights into what actually happened in Afghanistan, and how that influence their lives and politics currently.

The main role in Nobel is played by Aksel Hennie, a Norwegian actor most famous for his role in the movie The Martian.

The first season of Nobel consist of eight episodes and based on the reception a second season would absolutely be welcomed. But, according to NRK, the creator of the TV series, a second season is most likely out of the question. If it would come, then it would be a brand new story with new actors, meaning no real connection to the first season of Nobel.

That is quite nice to know for me, because I love watching TV series that actually have an end, knowing that problems will be solved and with few loose threads left as the season comes to an end.
