To add value to others, one must first value others.

We all want to influence people in a good way, and thus end up as popular influencers who get a lot of attention. But, if you really want to have an impact on people, they need to know that you actually care about them!

I would never want to work in the real-estate business, but if I ever did, I am afraid I would get soaked into it and quickly become a liar. How come? You get a very nice commission as a flat or a house is sold, and therefore it is all about selling flats. When you see someone interested, it is so easy to do everything in your power to sell it. And that is when we get in trouble… when making money gets more important of the value of the people around me. Imagine a real-estate agent who would say: “Don’t buy this, it isn’t what you are looking for… but, if I see something coming up I will give you a call.” I believe the people who immediately get a higher level of trust in the agent, and even though the agent might actually lose the clients, he is building up a name for himself by valuing the people around him.
