Character

I have a hard time thinking of myself as someone working in a normal job from 8.00 till 16.00. I do like to work, but my head is always packed with ideas and thoughts, and they need creative space. And if you didn’t know it, creativity doesn’t have a working time (often). It comes and goes, and when inspiration and ideas are there, it is time to work, even if it should be in the middle of the night.

Take a look at the following quote from Steve Jobs.

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

So many people are happy to have a superior telling them what to do and giving them instructions at all times. But, one of the easy ways to recognize a leader (or an upcoming leader) is by how they come up with creative ideas. Their minds are not only on the task they are supposed to do but while doing it, they think of how it can be done even better and how to improve things even more. It might be tiring for a boss to have such a creative mind (at least if the person a threat to his position), but if he manages to direct that creative energy in the right direction, it can become a real asset to the company and to the business.

If you do not have that innovative gene, no need to worry. The world would be a mess if everyone were to create their own businesses and do things on their own. But, if you have that innovative gene, make sure to use it wisely and be surrounded by other people who can inspire and help you move on!
