According to a poll on the official German Bundesliga website Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin have the best coaches in the German Bundesliga, or at least the coaches which did the best job during the first half of this season of the Bundesliga.
In the final poll only four coaches were left and could be voted on and those were the coaches of Bayern Munchen, Borussia Dortmund, Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach. It was quite interesting to see that the vote was made available in both English and German, and of those voting in German Pal Dardai, coach of Hertha Berlin, won with a quite clear margin, but in the English language vote Thomas Tuchel, coach of Borussia Dortmund won with clear margin, and once those votes were added up to one another, Thomas Tuchel won with 1% to Pal Dardai.
It can for sure be said that Thomas Tuchel has done a fantastic job with Borussia Dortmund, and they enjoyed a fantastic long winning streak in the start of this season. Maybe the enging does not work as smooth anymore, but still, he has done a terrific job.
Pal Dardai with Hertha Berlin has also done a great job, and some would say that his work is even more impressing. After taking over the control of Hertha Berlin late last season he barely managed to keep the team on the top level of the German Bundesliga and before this season several bookkeepers guessed that he would be among the first coaches to be fired from his job. However the complete opposite has happened and he has clearly been able to strengthen Hertha Berlin and make this a team who loves to keep the ball within the team and in fact control matches, instead of only running after the ball.
It will be interesting to follow both teams as the German Bundesliga starts up after the Christmas break. The first match will be played on January 22nd between Hamburger SV and Bayern Munchen, and then on January 23rd Hertha Berlin will play against Augsburg and Borussia Dortmund will play against Borussia Monchengladbach, a match that will be the top match on the first Bundesliga weekend in 2016.
