Are you hungry for more?

Leadership lessons

Many people strive for greatness and we all want victories in our lives. As we long to lead others and to influence lots of people an important question is still how we are leading ourselves?

Not all readers become leaders

Not all readers become leaders. But all leaders are readers – Harry S. Truman

The quote from Harry S. Truman is an important place to start. If you want to be a leader you need to develop yourself all the time. Once you stop developing your skills and your knowledge you will start heading in the wrong direction. Freshness is not a question of age, it is something located in your head between your ears. You can be 20 years old and fed up with life and you can be 80 years and honestly hungry for more. If you want to lead others, you need to have something to give to them!

John Wesley, one of the founders of the Methodist church once said: “Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.” If you keep on growing and stay hungry, it will draw attention to you, it will draw attention to your blog and it will draw attention to your business. In the same way a church crowded with people with a passion for church and for Jesus will draw people to it simply by being who they are.

The question is therefore: Are you hungry for more?

Do you wake up with joy in your heart waiting for what the new day has to bring? When did you last read an inspiring book? Are there people in your environment with whom you meet who inspires you to keep growing and learning more?

Since I earlier quoted John Wesley I can just as well quote him once more. That wise guy also said: „Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can.” If you stop working on your character and if you desire to grow as a person, as a business or even as a church it might work out well for some time more, but after a while you will start seeing the results of your lack of interest.

If you lead others on a daily basis there are lots of things to learn about leadership and how to lead others. But, if you try to lead others without a passion for the job, for the people and for the mission you will not achieve great success. The people around you need to see the fire in your eyes and hear the desire in your voice. When you have it inside of you it will „infect” the people around you as well, and you will hopefully find yourself surrounded by a large group of passion for the work infected people in a short while!

Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion.
